Why the University of Leicester Loves SmartGo
The University of Leicester have long been a SmartGo member and have seen almost one thousand of their staff join the scheme. Dr Sandra Lee originally set up the University's membership in 2013 and explains the range of ways it has benefited their organisation.
"The University of Leicester is committed to enhancing its social, economic and physical environments by embedding sustainability into our core business. Consequently, we support a number of initiatives and campaigns that provide our staff and students with easy and affordable choices to increase their sustainable practices, and SmartGo is a core component of this strategy.
“SmartGo sits nicely alongside our other staff benefits providers and although it complements these other networks and programmes, it demonstrably offers something that the others don’t. We have a comprehensive travel plan to maximise sustainable choices and the SmartGo offer uniquely enables us to deliver on this plan.
“The programme adds an extra layer to the cost-effective benefits packages offered by the University. It’s easy to manage and takes so little of my time. We receive automatic notifications of any changes or new offers that we can disseminate easily and quickly. On the rare occasions that we need an answer to a question, we get instant responses so for the University, it really represents maximum impact with minimum effort."
