The Smartgo Milton Keynes survey will consult staff members from local businesses on their travel habits to work. The results of the survey will help to focus on possible initiatives that could help commuters to choose more sustainable and cost-effective options for travelling to work in the town.

The Smartgo Stevenage survey will consult staff members from local businesses on their travel habits to work. The results of the survey will help to focus on possible initiatives that could help commuters to choose more sustainable and cost-effective options for travelling to work in the town. In 2015 a travel survey was undertaken with Smartgo Stevenage employers. This has helped grow the package of sustainable travel initiatives and support the initial development of an area wide car sharing scheme.
Businesses in Leicester are being encouraged to take part in a trial scheme offering reduced cost Park and Ride season tickets to their staff.
Leicester City and Leicestershire County councils have teamed up to trial a new introductory discount scheme aimed at commuters that travel into the city regularly, but who have not yet taken advantage of the Park and Ride service.
A limited number of discounted season tickets will be available during the trial period, which launched today (31 Oct), and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is a growing trend towards the use of Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs) in the UK with record numbers of new ULEVs on our roads. 9,657 ULEVs were registered in the UK in the last quarter (April to June) which is a 49% increase from the same period last year and 253% on two years before.
A new selection of offers has been announced to make workplace travel more cost-effective for UK employers and their staff. Four new discounted offers are now available through the national Smartgo workplace travel programme including exclusive promotions for bike hire, and bus and train travel from regional and national transport operators.
Through its strategic partnerships with leading transport operators including First Bus, East Midlands Trains, Abellio Greater Anglia and Santander Cycles, Go Travel Solutions - co-ordinator of the national Smartgo workplace travel network – will provide UK employers and their staff with access to reduced ticket costs and discounts on cycle hire. This will encourage the adoption of more sustainable modes of transport and will improve employees’ health and well-being.
