Leicester’s Go Ultra Low Breakfast Event

Go Travel Solutions, on behalf of Leicester City Council, is pleased to invite you to a Go Ultra Low event at the Curve Theatre on Thursday 10th November.

There is a growing trend towards the use of Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs) in the UK with record numbers of new ULEVs on our roads. 9,657 ULEVs were registered in the UK in the last quarter (April to June) which is a 49% increase from the same period last year and 253% on two years before.

A new selection of offers has been announced to make workplace travel more cost-effective for UK employers and their staff. Four new discounted offers are now available through the national Smartgo workplace travel programme including exclusive promotions for bike hire, and bus and train travel from regional and national transport operators.

Through its strategic partnerships with leading transport operators including First Bus, East Midlands Trains, Abellio Greater Anglia and Santander Cycles, Go Travel Solutions - co-ordinator of the national Smartgo workplace travel network – will provide UK employers and their staff with access to reduced ticket costs and discounts on cycle hire. This will encourage the adoption of more sustainable modes of transport and will improve employees’ health and well-being.

Hertfordshire County Council is supporting bus operators across the county with the Intalink Innovation Fund 2016/17, helping projects designed to encourage more residents to travel to work by bus.

The Centrebus ‘Fab 80s’ project is the flagship; focussing on services 80 and 81 between Stevenage and Hitchin. Centrebus is providing brand new vehicles for the routes, with the innovation fund supporting on-board wifi and a rebrand of the improved service, to encourage commuting by bus between the towns
