CrossCountry is to offer a ten per cent discount against its Advance train tickets, exclusively for use on CrossCountry trains, to members of the SmartGo workplace travel networks in Leicester, Stevenage, Milton Keynes, Hinckley, North West Leicestershire and Loughborough.

The CrossCountry discount is the latest offer to be added to the SmartGo programmes that provide local employers and their staff with a range of travel benefits and services to help make travel cheaper, easier and more sustainable. The membership package includes travel incentives and discounts, transport expertise and collaboration opportunities with other employers and transport providers. There are now 150 employer members of SmartGo including organisations such as Santander, Volkswagen and T-Systems. In total, employer members now represent 95,000 members of staff.

Why and when?

In celebration of Go Green Week, which is taking place from 9-15 February, we are holding our first mini challenge of the year which will cover all of the modes of sustainable travel in our yearlong challenge. Business savvy employers are being encouraged to attend FREE bi-monthly Walkie Talkie Netwalks running throughout 2015.

Walkie Talkie events feature a walk of around an hour through beautiful Bradgate Park where you’ll get to meet new contacts and develop business relationships. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn more about the park from a member of Bradgate Park’s team.

After the walk you will have the opportunity to continue informal networking in the Park’s café. A free hot drink and light breakfast will be provided for everyone who utilises the Park’s car park.

  • East Midlands Trains today (Friday 5 December) confirmed that passengers will benefit from an average real terms fares reduction from next month.

    Fares will rise by an average of 1.3% from 2 January 2015 which is significantly below the current rate of inflation*. The cost of a single journey will rise by an average of 17pence, the lowest increase for five years.
