Do you know that the government offers up to £4,500 off the price of a new electric car, and up to £8,000 off the price of a new electric van?
- The Plug-in Grant gives you 35% off the showroom price of an eligible car, up to £4,500.
- The Plug-in Van Grant will give you 20% up to £8,000 of the price of a new van.
- For employers the government offers a grant of £300 per socket, up to a maximum of 20 sockets.
- For employees, charging at work can be a convenient way to recharge an EV whilst parked during the day. From a business point of view, having a charge point at the workplace will be increasingly important as a facility for employees and visitors, while for businesses with an EV fleet it can be an essential operating factor.
Similar to the Electric Vehicle Homecharger Scheme, the Government offers businesses, charities and local authorities financial support to have charge points installed at their premises under the Workplace Charging Scheme. The grant provides £300 per socket – up to a maximum of 20 sockets – to be installed on dedicated off-street parking for staff, visitor, or fleet use.
