Smartgo Loughborough to be launched on 7 October 2014 at Loughborough Town Hall
A new programme is being launched in Loughborough to help local businesses make commuting and business travel cheaper, easier and more sustainable. Smartgo Loughborough will be formally launched on 7 October 2014 at Loughborough Town Hall with a keynote speech from MP for Loughborough, Nicky Morgan and an opportunity to ride in a Tesla electric sports car.
Smartgo Loughborough will provide Loughborough employers and their staff with a range of travel benefits and services to save money, improve health and enhance corporate responsibility. The programme also includes transport expertise and collaboration opportunities with other employers and transport providers.
Recent research undertaken by University of East Anglia (UEA) suggests that active commuters felt better able to concentrate and under less strain than when travelling by car.
It was highlighted that going by public transport was preferable to driving, data from 18,000 UK commuters over 10 years suggested.
